Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT
Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT is the peak body for foster and kinship carers in the Northern Territory. Our aim is to strengthen and grow a carer-centered organisation focused on resilience and diversity; influence and maintain collaborative partnerships throughout the Northern Territory; and continually improve our organisation through adaptability and innovation.
For 13 years we have been a firm voice for foster and kinship carers across the Northern Territory, championing their rights and advocating at an individual and systemic level to government bodies and key decision-makers. We are committed to supporting and empowering those who take on one of the most challenging yet rewarding roles in our community.
Through advocacy, collaboration and education, our mission is to empower carers and build a thriving, resilient carer community where foster and kinship carers are connected, equipped, and valued for their support of children and young people in their care. We're more than advocates; we're partners in the caring journey, providing essential information on carers' rights and services, and offering targeted training. We walk alongside our carers supporting and encouraging them.
Based in Darwin, our team regularly travels across the Northern Territory to engage directly with carers, sector partners, government, stakeholders, and other community agencies.
